LMNOP: New Toys On The Block - September 27, 2011Mudpuppy recently released a great collection of flat-pack Playspaces – all of which feature the art of world-class illustrators, such as Dave Perillo, Michael Slack and Valeria Cis. The retro ‘My School’ Playspace (shown above) by Julia Rothman is our personal favourite. These take anywhere, 3-D play scenes easily assemble by interlocking two sturdy boards to create four play areas – each set includes pop-out characters with stands. How come we like it so much? This school scene is a fresh take on the myriad of doll’s houses currently available on the market. It’s an Award Winner! Vancouver Mom: Hugs and Kisses for OXO Tot - September 26, 2011The OXO Tot Fork and Spoon Set ($8.49) is a real winner. The handles are easy for my one-year-old to grip and the set is designed for her to maneuver her food easily into her mouth. The extra wide bowl of the spoon really helps her to scoop up yogurt and rice. I was especially impressed by the fork, which with its large tines allowed her to pierce her food without it slipping off the end. The curve in the utensils also help to prevent them from rolling off her table. OXO really helps toddlers transition to “big” utensils, while minimizing the frustration and mess. Available in multiple colours, the OXO Tot Fork and Spoon set and OXO Tot plate is available separately or in a set, which comes with a bowl, for $29.99 at Raspberry Kids. : : Read the Article

Simply Stylish Mom Saturday Schmoozing - June 18, 2011 I absolutely love Raspberry Kids – it is a wonderful online store that has the most superb items! Sue and her partner Sally are super picky (in a good way!) about the items they choose to sell, so therefore they only sell the best of the best. There are so many gorgeous items for the SSM as well as her kiddos. I had so much fun perusing Sue’s warehouse, I really would’ve walked out of there loaded down with boxes and boxes of fabulous items. Also, Sue is married to an Australian which further proves she has impeccable taste! : : Read the Article

Yoyomama: Ribbit - March 8, 2011 Despite the rumour that spring is coming, the weather still has us on the lookout for indoor fun to keep our tots entertained. Board games are a fun, interactive ways to while away some time and our newest whole-family fave is Sevi’s Froggy. This two-dimensional wooden memory game also requires some serious fly swatting strategy. Your goal? To keep your flies from becoming fish food and saving them for your frog by memorizing where the holes in the pond are and then avoiding them. Froggy stays fresh because each time you set up the game you can put the holes in different places, which means they’re never in the same place twice so the game never gets old. : : Read the Article

BC Business Online: Mompreneurs Making It Online - January 4, 2011 “I think it has become a really fast trend of women going online to start their businesses,” observes Scarsbrook, who estimates about 40 per cent of her members have done so. “It’s probably one of the smartest ways that moms can make money. It’s really easy to start up, first of all. And of course it speaks to women who, perhaps, want to test the water first: moms who have left the corporate world and are thinking they want to go into business for themselves.” She lists local examples such as Raspberry Kids Inc., a one-stop-shop for high-end clothing, toys and accessories launched in 2008 by Sue Sinclair.
