Spilt Milk Moms: Vapur: Refreshingly Unique Water Bottles! - June 7, 2010
Vapur water bottles are unique in that they are portable, portable, PORTABLE! When empty, this flexible bottle collapses and then folds up into a tiny package that can easily be tucked into a pocket or tossed into your gym bag, purse, or diaper bag. This is definitely my favourite feature – my old aluminum water bottle not only took up all the space in my bag, but clunked around in there like a ball and chain. Vapur water bottles retail for $8.95 USD through the company’s website, and can be purchased in Canada through Raspberry Kids for $11.95 CAD (use promo code spiltmilk15 at checkout for 15% off, excluding the 4 bottle bundle pack).

Yoyomama: Monster Ink - June 7, 2010
Some things are so innately appealing that you can’t wait to get your hands on them. But in this case you won’t be able to wait to get them on your hands. We’ve been hoping that Spanish designer Héctor Serrano’s temporary tattoos for tots would become available in Canada and they’re finally here.

SweetMama: Under Cover - June 3, 2010
We’d love to have the soft and supple skin of our two-year-old, but that butter soft dermis is also super sun sensitive. That’s why we’re arming our little one with a sun-shielding hat that’s functional, comfortable (no tight elastic bands here) and will teach her healthy sun habits early on (so she can keep that beautiful skin as long as possible). Kooringal Heidiho Hearts floppy hat, $22. Available at www.raspberrykids.com.

Canadian Natural Mama: Kinderville Little Bites Storage Jars ~ Review and Giveaway - June 2, 2010
Kinderville Little Bites Storage Jars are a completely safe alternative to toxic plastics. They are free of BPA, Phthalates and Lead. Kinderville Little Bites Storage Jars are made with high grade silicone, which unlike plastic, is non-toxic and resistant to bacteria growth. Silicone is actually a natural product (made from minerals and natural elements) that is not only safe, but hypoallergenic, fume free, and does not react to food. I love that these storage containers can be frozen and heated in the microwave without worrying about chemical leaching. Kinderville also thoroughly safety tests all of their products, and I feel great using these jars with my family.

Yoyomama: Vapurize - April 30, 2010
We love the portability and the fact you can freeze it which makes it perfect for travel and keeping cool in the summer. Plus one truck transporting Vapurs from manufacturer to vendor carries as many bottles as nine trucks full of rigid water bottles, adding to their eco-cred. Will it replace our stainless steel bottles? No, but it’s an excellent, and less costly, addition to our ouevre that’ll make it even easier to avoid bottled water, and that’s a good thing. We just wish we were as flexible (and green) as this bottle.

At Vapur, the belief is that clean tap water is the best drinking water for you, your community and the planet, so they have set out to make tap water not only portable, but universally available and ethically sustainable. They hope that you’ll like your Vapur Anti-Bottle so much that you’ll swear off bottled water forever (and that’s quite a goal).

"Spilt Milk Moms: Ecotronics Light the Way - March 10, 2010
Ecotronic Torches are a great way to introduce your kids to a flashlight. Not only are they super cute, but they are also battery-free! Their batteries are charged by friction rather than by traditional batteries which require chemical reactions. Each animal has an ‘arm’ that pops out of the side, and you squeeze it over and over in order to charge the battery. Once the battery is charged, the arm clicks back into the flashlight until the next time it is needed. And surprisingly, the battery stays charged for quite some time! You don’t have to worry about your child forgetting to turn the light off before they throw it in the toy box, and you don’t have batteries to throw away/recycle!

Yoyomama: Big Love (Gifts for Mum) - February 9, 2010
We never thought we could feel so strongly about a thermos mug but we’re seriously in love with Kleen Kanteen’s BPA-free stainless steel Wide Mouth Insulated Bottles. They keep hot drinks really hot and cold drinks nice and cool. Each bottle comes with a leak proof cap – and it works, we threw our bottle into our purse when it was full of a latte with nary a leak – but we suggested accessorizing with their café cap which turns your bottle into a travel mug. Plus it makes a great thermos.

yoyomama: it smells like bees are making honey - January 6, 2010
Is there anyone in the world more fascinating than your child? You document their every move on video and putative film, but what about their amazing utterances, first words and funny expressions? If you’re like us you had the best intentions of filling up those baby books but never quite got around to it. So this year we’re determined to immortalize their bon mots in print, rather on scraps of paper here and there, and we’re relying on My Quotable Kid, A Parents’ Journal of Unforgettable Quotes for help.
