My son Tristan is 2 and I took him for a walk along a busy strip. We approached an intersection and I thought "What a perfect opportunity to teach Tristan about rules and safety crossing busy streets".
While waiting for the light to turn so we could cross the road, I pointed out the orange hand and explained that it meant "don't walk", and then I explained how we needed to watch for the 'man' to appear before we could cross the street. We waited a moment and just then a man in a car pulled up to the light and stopped. Tristan, waiting patiently exclaimed excitedly "MOM! I see a man! Lets go!".
